The circus comes to Kaibo

If there is one day Cayman’s party people have circled on their calendars every year, it is the annual Mardi Gras event at Kaibo. This year’s event, set to take place on Wednesday 9 March,  promises to live up to the high expectations created by previous years, with music, food and drink to keep everyone going until late at night.

This year, the theme is ‘Circus’ and the event will be sponsored by Tortuga Rum Company.

This is the 12th edition of the event, and as always, the organisers are planning to make this one bigger and better than anything that has gone before. This year, everything is based around a circus theme, so it is sure to entertain young and old. And being on the beach doesn’t hurt either.

Tickets to the event are $5 for general admission, but for those who really want to live the high life, the Big Top VIP lounge in the upstairs restaurant is the place to be. With a three course lunch included, as well as t-shirts, beads and gift bags, it is an experience to be relished.

However, even those who don’t get to live the high life in the VIP room are still assured of a brilliant time.
The Carib Carousel main bar will see the regular bar at Kaibo extended to twice its normal size, with ice cold Carib beer and a variety of other drinks on sale. As the biggest bar out there, this is sure to be party central.

No party would be complete without a mokito, and the Flor De Cana mojito bar will churn out that most refreshing of drinks, featuring Flor De Cana rum, fresh mint, Cuban sugar, fresh lime and a splash of soda. Mix in a little bit of flair, and a fair turn of speed, and prepare to be amazed.

For the party people who have no intention of straying from the dance floor all day, the Coconut Shy beach bar will be right on the dance floor, next to the stage, so you don’t have to skip a beat to get refreshed.

And what would the far side of the Island be without the ubiquitous mudslide? The Stoli mudslide tent will be the first spot you hit as you come off the ferry at Kaibo, and what better drink to get your party started than the classic mudslide? Of course, for those who would rather start with a soft drink or a shot or two, that can be arranged as well.

With a ferry service in place from Safehaven, there is no need to wait until you get to Kaibo to get the party started – in fact, the Safehaven Carib bar will offer ice cold Carib before you even start your journey!
Add the Cannonball jet pack (11 litres of mobile beer or cider on tap) and the Jaeger Hot Shot girl to the mix, and there is no doubt that this is going to be BIG!

Of course, man does not live on drink alone, and for that the Tortuga Rum Company food cabana will be serving up the Caribbean beach cuisine Kaibo is famous for.

The party will run from noon to midnight, with ferries running all day from Safehaven for a $10 round trip fare.

Advanced tickets only $5 available at all Tortuga Retail locations. VIP tickets available at Governor’s Square, The Greenery and North Sound (Industrial Park) locations. VIP tickets only $100 which includes three course lunch and two free drinks! Limited Capacity for both VIP and regular tickets.
