Wedding bells at the Beach Suites

From beachfront weddings on Seven Mile Beach to golf course weddings overlooking the North Sound, Grand Cayman Beach Suites has a range of weddings locations that literally stretch from coast to coast on Grand Cayman.

“We have several different venues on the property, from the beach to pool side and then we have a beautiful rooftop terrace which is the only one of its type on Seven Mile Beach with panoramic views of Seven Mile,” says Marina Flynn of Grand Cayman Beach Suites.

The onsite restaurants Hemingway’s and the Britania Grille also offer the perfect wedding reception locations, with executive chef Paul Carroll taking care of the food for the wedding receptions. Having worked with the likes of Gordon Ramsay, Paul certainly knows how stay cool under pressure.

“We do not require you to stay at our property to get married here, but our guests also receive wedding rates on suites when they stay with us. We organise everything from your minister to your meal, with flower and food obviously being in between,” says Marina.

The venue caters for weddings from an intimate wedding for two to groups of up to 150, with no charge for wedding coordination services.

“We’ve done cruise ship weddings where people are here maybe for a lunch and then they’re gone, to a wedding you start planning a year in advance for a local bride and it’s a ten hour affair that day,” says Marina.

“For me as a wedding coordinator I think I become like a family member – it’s that atmosphere. Most of these people you build at least a six month relationships with. Many times the couple has never been to Cayman so they’re placing all their trust in you,” says Marina.

The different locations on the property allow a great level of wedding customisation.

“You have the natural beauty of the beach and the venues, so if you want to decorate it you can, but if you just want it to be two people standing under a tree on the beach it is just as beautiful, just as precious as any other wedding that you would dress up,” says Marina.

In fact, one of her favourite weddings was a simple beach wedding with just the bride and groom, who had to return to Afghanistan the next week. The wedding was exactly what they wanted and just perfect in its simplicity.
