Rush might be the biggest thing to come out of Canada since maple syrup, with a career still going strong after some 45 years in the business. The band has not been afraid to experiment with their sound, shifting from blues-inspired metal to prog rock to a period of heavy experimentation with synthesizers. It has been one of the most influential bands out there, cited as a big influence by the likes of Metallica and The Smashing Pumpkins.
