Mardi Gras at Kaibo

Every public holiday Wednesday in February, a huge crowd descends on Kaibo in North Side for one of the biggest parties of the year – Mardi Gras! Usually celebrated in New Orleans on Fat Tuesday, Mardi Gras is held on the Wednesday here to take advantage of that wonderful day off.

People from all the districts gravitate towards Kaibo for great food, terrific drinks and awesome music.

This year will be no different. The fun begins at 12 noon and continues until midnight, and it’s only $5 entrance fee for the beach. If, on the other hand, you wish to go the VIP route, you can get $100 tickets which give you access to the second floor, lunch and lots of beads to throw down to an adoring public with arms outstretched.

Expect top local bands and DJs playing music non-stop until the party ends, and with the beach as your dance floor, there’s plenty of space for you to show off your moves.

You can either drive up to North Side and enjoy the scenic route, or take the ferry leaving Safehaven dock every hour. The round trip is only $10 and well worth it if you live in the western districts. It’s much cheaper than a taxi all the way back, and you certainly don’t want to be drinking and driving.
