Take a look inside side bar

There’s a cool new spot to chill out, relax, enjoy a drink, bite to eat, and perhaps catch your favourite game. “side bar” at the Grand Cayman Beach Suites has recently opened its doors and is proving a hit with those who are seeking a casual place to meet up with friends and family away from all the hustle and bustle.

Located at the former Bamboo, this hot spot has been given a complete overhaul and an entirely new entrance – tucked away at the side, of course!

Once inside you’ll find an impressive 16-seat bar that runs the length of the venue, while opposite there are plenty of comfy couches, tables and chairs where you can sit back and relax.

There’s a wide array of wines by the glass, premium liquor by the half bottle – complete with ice bucket and glass-bottle sodas – and bottled draft beers.  Indeed, it’s one of the largest bars on Seven Mile Beach, offering a staggering 27 rums, alongside high end whiskeys, bourbons, malt, vodka and scotch. You’ll definitely be spoilt for choice here.

Three high definition TV’s sit high above the bar, and there is even full service outside at the adjacent Turtle Pool for those looking to enjoy the cooling Caribbean breeze. Take a look at side bar’s impressive selection of cigars direct from its in-house humidor, and enjoy a leisurely smoke outdoors.

On the menu, which is designed for sharing, is a selection of tapas, artisan pizzas and small plates, reminiscent of gastro-pub offerings. Tuck into delicious dishes like jumbo mushrooms stuffed with blue cheese and spinach, confit duck wings with a sweet chili sauce, seasoned fries with truffled parmesan mayo, pulled bbq braised beef short rib with grilled cheese, fish and chips, artisan cheeses and the ever popular poutine.

Side bar is open seven days a week, from 4pm to 12am. Food is served daily until 11pm. For those who like to start the evening early, check in to “side bar” for its happy hour from 4pm to 7pm.
