The 46th Annual Agricultural Show will take place at the Grounds in Lower Valley on Wednesday, 13 February 2013 (the Brac Agricultural Show is scheduled for Saturday, 2 March 2013, and the Little Cayman Agriculture Show is Saturday 23 March 2013).
Always very well attended, the Show is expected to draw a crowd of over 10,000 people when it opens its gates bright and early at 8am.
There are lots of activities guaranteed to keep all ages entertained, and of course then there’s the food!
Local farmers bring out their produce to sell and vendors are on hand with all your local favourites. Expect to find Cayman beef, rundown, cow foot, conch, snapper and jerk aplenty. Those who prefer their supper simple can always find burgers and hot dogs on the grill, and there will be no shortage of cold beverages available for purchase.
When you’re not chowing down on the best of Cayman cuisine, there is a petting zoo to visit, pony rides to be had, storytelling to enjoy and lots more! In an effort to get the youth more interested in local ingredients and cooking, youngsters will create menus and serve samples of local produce in a cooking demo and competition, featuring students tutored by some of Cayman’s top chefs.
