The gift that keeps on giving

Lingerie is a popular gift at Valentine’s Day. However, for the guy tasked with purchasing it, it can prove to be a minefield. Indeed, it can be a perilous task if not tackled correctly.

Rosa Harris, owner of the newly opened lingerie boutique Vy’s Closest, at Countryside Village, suggests that if guys are serious about buying lingerie this Valentine’s Day then they need to start doing some snooping.

“Have a look in your ladies wardrobe and check sizes, including dress size and bra size,” Rosa says. She also suggests bringing in a photo of the lucky lady as well as information on her personal style, such as whether she is a conservative or a more glamorous dresser.

“Having an idea of how someone dresses on the outside can certainly help give you an idea of the person’s personality and therefore gives you a better understanding of the lingerie that they perhaps would like,” Rosa explains.

Vy’s Closet has a range of gift ideas to tempt everyone. The lingerie boutique, which opened late last year, is open by appointment only, so men can make an appointment to shop privately while being guided by Rosa’s expertly trained eye. Alternatively, they can treat their lady to their own personal shopping experience with Rosa, as well as a gift certificate.

There’s a host of stunning items to choose from too, from beautiful panties starting at just $7, rising up to the priciest bra at $74. For men wishing to play it safe, there’s a selection of luxurious robes, sexy chemises, thongs, boy shorts, shape wear and accessories. There’s even special occasion and bridal intimate apparel on offer too.

Vy’s Closest is primarily aimed at ladies with a fuller bust, with bra sizes starting at a D cup, although there are plenty of smaller sized items too.

Bras and panties are imported from market-leading manufacturers of full-busted and voluptuous intimate apparel. Brands include Elomi, Goddess, Panache and Curvy Kate.

These brands have tested the support system of their bras and have invested in making them stylish, trendy, sexy and fun, so you can rest assured that they will be a hit.
