PD’s Sports Bar and Restaurant

Beer, food and sports on tap

Pirates Den or PD’s as it is better known, is a legendary bar in Galleria Plaza on the Seven Mile Strip. It has gone through a couple of incarnations through the years, but the great food, drinks and atmosphere have always remained the same.

These days it is one of the top venues for watching all the premium sports events, thanks to its 10 flatscreen TVs spread evenly between the bar and dining room, not to mention two dropdown projector screens for the really big games.

The square footage of PD’s means that many can gather without feeling crammed in, and just like the KENO displays in Vegas, no matter where you sit you’ll have a clear view of a screen.

The NBA and NHL playoffs are going to be all the rage in June, and even if you’re not into basketball or hockey, you might be a keen fan of UFC (Ultimate Fighting Championship) or boxing matches, all of which are shown at PD’s on a regular basis.

Of course man cannot live on sports alone (although he probably wouldn’t mind trying) and so there is much to sustain the body at this popular bar and restaurant.

The menu has recently been revamped to add new dishes, but never fear; old favourites like the shrimp, wings and quesadillas are still present and accounted for. There is also a supplementary menu of six entrees that changes weekly. Available from Monday to Friday from 5.30pm onwards, you’re bound to find something new and delectable to try.

You should also sample the pastas and salads. Just because PD’s is a great place to watch sports doesn’t mean it only offers snack fare. There is a wide selection of excellent dishes to choose from beyond the usual appetisers.

Don’t forget happy hour! Most bars run it from Monday to Friday, but PD’s has drink specials every day from 4pm to 7pm, and buckets of beer will also be on special during the playoff games.

PD’s has been around since the 1980s for a good reason – it has always been a great place for friends to gather and socialise.

As the hot summer months are now upon us, what better place to watch all the sports you crave in the cool air-conditioning with everything you need in one spot? PD’s is that spot.
