You won’t want to miss the Chamber of Commerce CayShop Expo on Friday Oct. 30 and Saturday, Oct. 31.
The Arts and Recreation Centre (ARC) at Camana Bay will be transformed into the Islands’ largest shopping mall, with almost 40 exhibitors offering their products and services at the lowest prices of the year; and just in time for the Christmas shopping season!
The family-friendly event is free to attend. Why not get to know (or reacquaint yourself with) local businesses and learn about their offerings?
Telephones, tablets, security systems, coffee machines, coffee, glassware, electronics, insurance, real estate, Internet services and much more will be on display. There will be product demonstrations held, and free flu shots given. Special discounts offered only to CayShop attendees and drawings for valuable prizes are two more reasons to visit CayShop 2015.
CayShop is now in its 22nd year of providing Chamber member businesses an outlet to reach thousands of potential customers over a three day period.
Previous Chamber Expos have played host to grand openings of new companies, unveiling of merchandise previously unavailable in the Cayman Islands (such as the first electric cars), and corporate re-brandings. What will this year have in store?
The variety of products and services offered by the Chamber’s members are comparable to any that overseas merchants can supply. Check them out at the CayShop Expo and remember to “Spend Local!”
The first “Business Fair” was held in 1992 at the Lions Centre. Wooden booth stalls were erected and thirty businesses participated. The event was designed to attract families and several activities were organised to allow as many small businesses as possible to showcase their products.
In 1995, the name of the event was changed to the Business Expo and there was greater emphasis placed on creating a business environment for selling products and services.
2012 saw the Chamber reason that after 20 years the Business Expo needed a face lift and an injection of innovation, and CayShop was born! The venue was changed to the ARC at Camana Bay, special categories for small businesses and cottage industries were created and an outdoor exhibition space was allocated.
