Although the official date for Halloween is Saturday, Oct. 31 this year, the organizers of the major parties have come up with a great way to enable ghouls and goblins to attend all of their events. Each one is held on a different night, so you can either get a lot of wear out of a single costume, or you can work on modeling a trifecta of designs to sweep the Boogie Man balls.
Cayman Distributors presents Z99’s Monster Bash
Saturday, Oct. 24, 8 p.m. to midnight
It all begins with the Monster Bash at Treasure Island on West Bay Road. This huge party really needs no introduction, as even if you haven’t attended in previous years, you’ll have driven by and seen the crowd of costumed characters heading there in droves.
The main action will be happening around the Carp Bar, with music by Z99’s DJ Flex and other visiting guest DJs.
Make sure you put lots of effort into your outfit, as there will be a costume competition for Best Male, Best Female and Best Couple. Prizes include spirits from Cayman Distributors and an after-party room, fully stocked with everything you need for a ghoulishly good time, courtesy of Treasure Island.
Please note that all monsters have to be at least 18 years old, and there is a $5 cover at the gate. If the last few years are anything to go by, that will be money well spent.

Royal Palms Beach Club
“The Haunted Mansion” presented by Bacardi
Friday, Oct. 30
9 p.m. to 2 a.m.
Royal Palms is simply a legendary hangout in Grand Cayman. It has a prime position on Seven Mile Beach complete with swimming pool, cabanas, pool bar and indoor lounge. Every week there is music, food, drink and a killer view to enjoy.
As popular as Royal Palms is on a daily basis, it really ramps up the action for its annual Halloween party. Last year saw over 1,500 revelers descend on the property, and there’s no reason to think this year won’t be an even bigger affair.
The “mansion” will feature Cayman’s versatile DJ Lin, playing an eclectic array of island tunes, Top 40 hits and soca alongside DJ Jonesian with Top 40, Hip-Hop and EDM remixes right on the Beach Patio.
Marcelle and Friends will be banging out the underground house tunes at the pool bar, so no matter where you choose to hang out on the property, you’ll have music wherever you go.
There will be a couples’ costume contest to win two airline tickets, and additional costume prizes include a Westin staycation and 40-inch Phillips LED Flat Screen TV.
Those who miss trick-or-treating will be relieved to hear that they’ll get Halloween candy and swag upon entry.

Fright Fest – Strand Block Party
Saturday, Oct. 31
7 p.m. to midnight
Not many event companies can organize a party like Epic Day Entertainment. If you’ve missed the block parties of old, along South Church Street and the like, then Fright Fest at The Strand is where you want to be on Oct. 31.
It’s one party held over four venues: Witches Mist / The Asylum / House of Horrors / Scarehouse (yes, Whiskey Mist and Lillie’s feature in there).
Fans of frighteningly good live music will be ready to boogie to the sounds of bands like Zipper Envy and the Neverines, while DJ divas and divos won’t be able to resist the spinning talents of DJs Billy Corduroy, Lizzie Curious, Rion Kirk, Matt Banx, Glenroy and Omar.
The one entrance fee of $15 in advance ($20 at the door) gets you into all four parties. You can pick up your advance tickets at the Epic Day office at The Strand and all Blackbeard’s and Big Daddy’s stores.
