Maybe it’s the baubles or maybe it’s the bubbly, but we just love this time of year.
The air is cooler and the smiles are warmer. Everyone seems to be in a good mood (when they’re not rushing around, trying to get their last-minute shopping done) and lights and decorations festoon roundabouts, homes and businesses.
There are so many ways to celebrate the holidays. You can sip champagne on the beach; have friends and family around to your house for beverages and turkey; or just head out to one of the myriad parties being held at venues throughout the Cayman Islands.
The hotels, restaurants and bars get in on the action with sparkling décor, champagne on ice, live bands and DJs. Before you know it, you’ll find every night of your social calendar booked, as you flit from one event to the next.
Not sure where to go to buy the best Christmas gifts? This issue has got you covered with lots of gift suggestions and where you can find them. There are shops, boutiques, spas and salons just waiting to help you purchase the perfect present. When in doubt, get a gift certificate!
For those not strong in the kitchen department, yet not willing to go out on Christmas Day – fret not. A good number of resorts, restaurants and markets are selling fully cooked dinners with all the trimmings to save your sanity. Simply book in advance and then pick it up to make your day a success.
At this time of year, we should also remember those less fortunate than ourselves. It is the season of giving, and so make sure to sign up for a charity drive that gives toys to children or puts food on an otherwise bare table.
There’s no greater feeling than being able to be generous to others who need your good wishes.
