Cupid has been readying his bow and arrow for some time now, and on Feb. 14, he’ll head out for his busiest day of the year – Valentine’s Day. As the 14th is a Sunday, it opens up many more options for the twitterpated couple looking for romantic ways to celebrate their love.
Whatever you decide to do this Valentine’s Day, if it requires a reservation, make sure you book it early.
A delicious dinner for two is a classic choice for couples, at maybe a favorite restaurant or a new one they haven’t tried before. Luckily amazing restaurants abound in the Cayman Islands, so you’ll be spoilt for choice.
Again, remember that this is one of the busiest nights of the year for such places, so if you haven’t made a reservation already, get on it ASAP.
Even if you live here, you may not own or rent a place on the beach. And even if you do, there doesn’t seem to be a room service button on your phone anywhere.
Spending a weekend in a nice resort or condo on Seven Mile Beach or further afield is a wonderful way to treat yourselves to some much-needed pampering. Go ahead – indulge!
Quite a few spas on the island cater to couples, offering duo massages on the beach or indoors. The La Mer Spa in the Grand Cayman Marriott Beach Resort, for example, has a room dedicated to couples with two massage beds and a whirlpool bath. All you need is champagne for two and you’ve got the perfect date.
The gift of chocolate
If your partner has a sweet tooth, consider something from one of the fine pastry stores on the island. After all, a way to a person’s art is through their stomach. Icoa and Treats are known for their addictive confectionaries, including cakes, chocolates and cookies. Treats has chocolate-covered strawberries. Need we say more?
