The Red Sail Sports catamarans have become the preferred method of transport for anyone heading to Rum Point for the day or evening, and one simply has to look towards the setting sun to see one cruising through the water off Seven Mile Beach.
There is now a new addition to the growing fleet. Spirit of the Islands is the fifth 65’ catamaran to join the Red Sail Sports team. She can accommodate a maximum of 70 passengers and comes with some unique features; including a commercial grill on the back and a water slide! Spirit of the Islands will be based along Seven Mile Beach and she comes into the fleet as demand for the company’s Sunset Sails and Dinner Sails increases.
March will see the launching of a new trip experience that will feature lunch on board cooked by a professional chef. The catamaran will make a stop along one of Seven Mile Beach’s shallow reefs to allow guests the chance to snorkel, swim and of course, take turns on the slide. While guests are in the water, the chef will be rustling up a delightful BBQ menu including burgers, ribs and local fish tacos.
The popularity of foodie festivals in the Cayman Islands, such as Cayman Cookout and Taste of Cayman, has proven that there is a definite interest in culinary-related excursions and experiences. Spirit of the Islands is allowing Red Sail Sports to offer their guests the fun of a boat trip combined with a truly decadent lunch, cooked up on the spot.
It doesn’t get much more al fresco than this!
