Abacus is a hip spot on the Paseo in Camana Bay, with perfect seating for people watching and a long bar where friends gather for happy hour or to dissect the movie they’ve just seen at Regal Cinema.

Perhaps that film was starring George Clooney, and therefore an ideal choice of cocktail would be one containing the famous actor’s tequila, Casamigos.

It seems that Clooney can’t put a foot wrong, whether he’s acting in a film or creating an award-winning tequila with friends Rande Gerber and Mike Meldman. The 100 percent Agave liquor, created with their master distiller in Jalisco, Mexico, has garnered rave reviews from the media. Lauded as “a perfect tequila” and “smooth like velvet,” it stands on its own in the market (but being associated with Georgy boy can’t hurt).

Always ready to serve up Casamigos is Jac Stanton, resident mixologist at Abacus. Originally from Brantford, Ontario, Jac has spent most of her life working in the hospitality industry, but only recently took a position behind the bar.

So far, she’s loving seeing how the other half lives and enjoys the interaction with new and different people every day … plus her regulars, of course.

She agrees that Casamigos is a great quality tequila, and she has a terrific cocktail for you to try when you next pull up a chair at Abacus.
