The Grand Cayman Marriott Beach Resort is gearing up to host a brand new monthly event: Dark Night.
Held on the Friday closest to the new moon, it aims to offer guests a spiritual, tranquil space in which to reflect on life.
The event – the first which will be held on Friday, May 6 – is set to be held in the resort’s chic Anchor & Den bar and restaurant, where the lights will be dimmed to help create a truly sacred space.
The evening begins at sunset and includes the resort’s signature apothecary elixirs, a selection of holistic bites, including a raw bar and paleo-inspired pinchos (small tapas-like snacks), candlelight rituals, intention setting, stargazing, vibrating tunes, and smoking white sage to honor the celestial cycles.
“In Cayman there are many celebrations around the full moon, but little commemorating the new moon,” Nicolas Franco, marketing coordinator at the Marriott says. “A New Moon represents new beginnings and it is during this time that the moon is empty, receptive and full of potential.
“Setting intentions during a new moon is a powerful and meaningful way to align with the world around us and provide guidance in our lives. New Moon ceremonies are about creation, manifestation, birth and rebirth while the full moon represents the end of a chapter, tying up loose ends and shedding light on the things that we no longer have to hold onto. It is the optimum time to look deep within and discover your hopes and dreams.”
He adds: “This signature event will appeal to anyone who appreciates nature and the beauty of a starry night sky.”
If you can’t make the launch event, the next Dark Night is scheduled to be held on Friday, June 3.
