When CayFilm officially began in 2015, organizer Tony Mark promised great things in the future. Looking at the lineup of events and celebrities coming to Cayman in 2016 from July 1-4, it seems that he has more than made good on that promise.

cayfilm2Hundreds of films have been submitted from both local and overseas filmmakers for consideration, and at the same time, Tony Mark has been confirming everyone from Anthony Daniels, otherwise known as Star Wars’ C-3PO, to Zoe Saldana, Frank E. Flowers and Victor Rasuk.

“It’s been a lot of work, but when I look at what we’re going to be offering this year, I can honestly say it’s been more than worth it,” says Mark, speaking of the months of negotiations and coordination that have brought him to this point.

“I know it’s clichéd to say that we’ll be ‘bigger and better than before,’ but in this case it’s true. CayFilm is already being recognized by the international film industry as a significant player in the film festival circuit. One has only to look at the caliber of talent attending our 2016 festival to see how far we’ve come since just last year.”
