Mixologist of the Month: Samm Gage @ Rackam’s Waterfront

Rackam’s Waterfront with its Cblu lounge is one of those rare places that inspires incredible loyalty in its patrons, and anyone new who discovers it tends to join its ever-growing group of supporters.

It exudes the relaxed atmosphere of a bar in the Caribbean (as well it should) with its location a literal stone’s throw from the water. Its real estate runs the length of the dock by which it sits, so there is no bad seat to be had.

You have a view of the sea from every chair.

People from the watersports industry rub shoulders with office workers every day and evening of the week and the staff members are on a first name basis with them all.

Samm-GageOne smiling face patrons look forward to seeing is that of Samm Gage, a strikingly good looking lady from Toronto who has lived in the Cayman Islands for seven years, with four of them spent working behind the bar at Rackam’s.

Her tattoos are as colorful as her personality, which both make her an excellent addition to this favored venue.

She also has skills when it comes to creating cocktails, so if you’re not a beer drinker, she’s got something to wet your whistle.

It’s great to have places like Rackam’s around when so many classic bars have fallen over the years to what they call “progress.” If you’ve been craving a taste of Cayman life at its finest, go to Rackam’s and see what you’ve been missing.
