History of Foster’s Food Fair

December 10th officially marks the 35th anniversary date for a company that started with one family’s vision. In 1980, David Foster identified the need for a modern supermarket on Grand Cayman that provided quality food and a larger selection of items at a lower cost.

With the help of his mother, Alta, and his brother, Steve, the trio opened the Airport Store with less than 6,000 square feet and 25 employees.

Since then, the Foster’s Food Fair name has gone from strength to strength, opening multiple locations over the years and partnering with the Independent Grocers Alliance along the way.

To celebrate the company’s anniversary, Foster’s is focusing on giving back to the community. Each month, a different charity will be chosen and highlighted by the stores to raise awareness of the work these organizations do, and to encourage the public to donate to them
