If you’re driving through town in the evening and you hear some music along North Church St, opposite the water front, you may be passing the Cayman Coffee Club. Open since Jan. 1, the coffee emporium is a top pick on TripAdvisor, selling everything from cappuccinos to cookies, and now Caybrew.
Walk in the door and take a seat on the pallet bench in the corner, while admiring the art on recycled pallet pieces on the wall. The coffee bar? Created from pallets too! It should therefore come as no surprise that Cayman Coffee Club recycles its Cayman Islands Brewery bottles, in keeping with the more eco-friendly world in which we live.
Co-owner of the establishment, Vlasta Hynek, originally from Prague, can often be found behind the counter, serving his customers personally. The charismatic Czech wants the shop to not just cater to daytime patrons, but to attract the nighttime crowd as well, which is why Friday nights are dedicated to young, local DJs, and Saturday nights feature established mixers such as DJs RKM and Glenroy.
Customers can sit down with a cold bottle of Caybrew or White Tip locally brewed beer, and get their groove on.
Like any good coffee shop, the Cayman Coffee Club has nibbles for sale such as sandwiches, muffins and desserts.
You can also get yourself a scoop or two of Cayman-made ice cream here.
There is a great social buzz around this place, so you should stop by to see what it’s all about. Join the Cayman Coffee Club movement and get your Caybrew here!
