Remember the cigar bar in Regency Court on West Bay Road where live music, cigars and drinks were de rigueur pretty much every day of the week? Well, Club Havana is now in brand spanking new digs at Caribbean Plaza, offering great entertainment, authentic Cuban cigars and genuine Cayman Islands Brewery beer.

Businessman Raglan Roper opened his first Cuban cigar shop in Cayman in 1997 and since then has brought the cigar lounge experience to residents and visitors. The new location is large and comfortable, with Cuban art adorning the walls in bright, primary colors.

Divided into two sections, it now caters to the smoking and non-smoking crowd, with an additional outdoor patio area. Weekly entertainment includes salsa on Mondays, karaoke on Tuesdays, a DJ on Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays, Retro music on Thursdays and easy listening tunes on Sundays.

When taking a seat at the bar under warm pendant lighting, or in one of the lounge chairs, you’ll no doubt meet the charming

Natalie Henry, one of Club Havana’s friendly and professional service staff. Ask her for an ice cold Caybrew or White Tip, both available by the bottle, then sit back and relax.

Reuse brewery bottles

Club Havana is one of the many bars now participating in the Cayman Islands Brewery’s brilliant initiative that sanitizes and reuses its bottles, so nothing ends up on the landfill.

Bottles are collected and packed, then picked up by the brewery at no cost to be processed and reused. It’s a great way to help save the environment!

New and improved

If you haven’t yet visited the new Club Havana, this is the week to do it. Located on the second floor of Caribbean Plaza, it has lost none of its charm and now has the space to accommodate even more fans of Cuban culture, cigars, music and of course, Cayman Islands Brewery beer.
