Meals On Wheels Cayman Islands (MOW) will hold its fourth annual Orange You Glad Gala on April 8 at The Westin Casuarina Resort. Cocktails will begin at 6 p.m. followed by a delicious three-course dinner and an exciting live and silent auction with musical entertainment through the night.
Chairman Rob Imparato will once again don his trademark bright orange suit and shoes, representing the charity’s color. This blinding, yet enjoyable attire will be included in the live auction at the end of the evening as per Orange You Glad custom (previous winning bids have exceeded $1,000!).
Live auction items this year include a Caribbean Club staycation, travel vouchers and jewelry from Kirk Freeport. Meals On Wheels is quite confident that its magnificent soiree will have those in attendance asking one another, “Orange You Glad you are helping end senior hunger in the Cayman Islands?”
Meals On Wheels
Meals On Wheels is a volunteer organization with the sole purpose of delivering one hot meal per day to elderly and disabled people in the community. The meals are prepared at its headquarters in George Town and several private kitchens and are then delivered by volunteers to recipients in all five districts.
2017 marks MOW’s 20th year of serving Grand Cayman, all under the caring watch of Executive Director Beulah McField and her hard-working staff and volunteers. The organization currently serves more than 210 meals across the island per day with many more on its waiting list. The charity plans to expand its services to these people as funding allows. Corporate and individual donors subsidize approximately 75 percent of MOW’s annual budget, with the remainder provided through Government funding.
Make a difference
Meals On Wheels aims to raise $75,000 from Orange You Glad 2017. There are several ways to support the gala. Corporate tables of 10 are available for $1,500 (individual tickets can be purchased for $150). This would present an opportunity to make a contribution and enjoy the evening with colleagues, friends and family.
MOW is also seeking corporate sponsors to assist in underwriting the cost of the event. A donor of $10,000 will receive a corporate table, significant recognition during the promotion of the event and acknowledgement as a major MOW supporter in all local advertising for this and subsequent events throughout the year. Alternatively, donations of all monetary amounts and live and silent auction items will be greatly appreciated and of course recognized.
