Drills, blenders, paint, lumber or light fixtures – whatever home or business improvement equipment is on your mind at the end of this summer, it’s likely that a visit to A. L. Thompson’s will be in order. There is no better time than at the pinnacle of its consumer events: Home Fest 2017.
For the seventh year running, A. L. Thompson’s is throwing open its doors for Home Fest, billed as the largest consumer fair in Cayman, from Sept. 29-30.
The annual two-day affair has proved very popular over the years, and is a much-anticipated fun, family oriented, interactive event.
“There really is something for everyone at Home Fest,” said A. L. Thompson’s Retail Manager Dan Murphy.
“Whether you are a contractor, interior designer, chef or homeowner, Home Fest provides a stage for the demonstration of products applicable to your field, informs you of your options and gives you the chance to have face-to-face contact with representatives from some of the biggest home and building lines.”
The interactive tradeshow provides a one-stop-shop to learn more about new and existing products on offer at A. L. Thompson’s, straight from the mouths of knowledgeable brand representatives and the store’s staff members.
This year, nearly 100 overseas vendors will be present to demonstrate their lines, covering building supplies, tools, home appliances and more. Some will be introducing new industry lines, such as Dekor window treatments and Big Dog all-natural hand sanitizer, while others will be featuring improved classics, such as KitchenAid, Whirlpool, Char-Broil, Sub-Zero and Wolf, ClosetMaid, Kohler, Delta Faucet, Mercer Culinary, Hunter Fans, Melissa & Doug, Aspen Pet, Wellborn Cabinets, and Valspar.
“The first Home Fest hosted in 2011 presented about 30 overseas vendors demonstrating their wares,” said Patricia Anne Rice, Creative Director at A. L. Thompson’s. “The following year there were double that number.
With now almost triple that figure, A. L. Thompson’s Home Fest has grown into the largest and most well attended two-day consumer fair in the Cayman Islands. Almost every square inch of our 130,000-square-foot George Town store is occupied with Home Fest activities for our customers to enjoy and to receive discounts on products presented.”
Cooking demonstrations will also be featured, with World Burger Champion Chef Wade Fortin of Bull Grills returning as featured chef. Other representatives will also be demonstrating kitchen brands. “Suffice to say that with the kitchen being the heart of the home and nourishing food being the heart of the kitchen, Home Fest always offers delicious creations to taste and enjoy,” said Patricia.
Home Fest was formed around the Caymanian idea of preparing and improving your home in time for Christmas, and as such, the timing of the event is perfect. Summer holidays have drawn to a close, the holiday season is approaching at a fast pace and homeowners may be preparing for yuletide guests, or finishing this year’s home improvements.
Home Fest provides all the tools necessary for a relaxing year-end.
