If you’re looking for an easy dining experience, coupled with a great social atmosphere and cold brews, Caribbean Plaza’s newest resident – Tahu Resto & Bar – is the place for you.
Tahu is a tapas bar in the Cayman Islands with a Maori name that means “to cook” or “to fire” serving up dishes from Europe and beyond. It’s a very eclectic mix and so people from all countries and cultures should feel at home here.
The menu includes salads, rice and fideua dishes, hearty stews (think: oxtail and lamb), and those tapas items that run from a charcuterie selection to garlic shrimp with olive oil, deep fried market fresh fish, asparagus with romesco sauce and manchego, chicken croquettes and a host of other tasty tidbits perfect for sharing.
Naturally, when taking a seat at the cozy bar you’ll want something with which to wash it all down. What could be better than a glass of ice cold Cayman Islands Brewery beer? Tahu has draft Caybrew, fresh from the barrel, served up by a smiling member of staff like Marlon Rivra.
If you don’t feel like sitting at the bar, you can pull up a chair to one of the many indoor tables or relax on the outdoor patio surrounded by greenery.
A great time to introduce yourself to your new neighbor is to stop by between 4 and 7 p.m. when Happy Hour is in full swing. You can get to know the place a little and indulge for less!
Considering a private function for a birthday or wedding? Tahu is the ideal spot to book. It’s just the right size for an intimate gathering and is well situated in the heart of the Seven Mile Strip.
So, when you have a hankering for some delicious food, freshly brewed Caybrew beer, and want to share it all with your social crowd, head to Tahu in Caribbean Plaza. Be the welcome wagon for the new kid in town.
Tahu is open Mon-Sat from noon to midnight. For reservations, call 233-2233.
