Cayman Islands Helicopters has taken to the air with a new look. Jerome Begot, pilot and owner of the company, admits that he has always wanted a tropical themed helicopter. With a helping hand from noted artist Guy Harvey and the spray booth at Autohaus, the helicopter now sports a unique Cayman-inspired paint scheme.
The cobalt blue colour was chosen to match the ocean, while the helicopter is adorned with turtles, stingrays, angel fish and various other marine species. However, he admits to one small oversight in the design of the new paint scheme.
“All the kids, they ask me ‘Where is Nemo?’ so I think I will have to add him,” Jerome says.
The new look has received a warm reception from the company’s customers.
“A lot of people took pictures of the helicopter before, but now it is at least three times as many,” Jerome smiles.
“Some people have told me that Cayman is the only place where you have stingrays in the water and over the water,” he laughs.
“Cayman is fantastic; fly over it’s magical.”
The company’s most popular tour is its Stingray City tour, which is available for US$115 per person, or US$105 per person when booked online a week in advance.
