Camana Bay celebrates the season with traditions, new and old, and provides a gathering place for friends and families to meet. Whether shopping, a day with the family, attending one of the many holiday events with the kids, or just wandering through the decorated courtyards, Camana Bay is the one place in Grand Cayman where you can do all of this, and more, in one convenient location.
The Central Caribbean Marine Institute hosts its annual Festival of Trees Showcase at Camana Bay from 18 to 20 November. The event not only educates guests about the work that the CCMI does to preserve Cayman’s marine biodiversity, but also inspires visitors with professionally decorated Christmas trees and wreaths which are on display for the duration of the showcase. The trees then move to Ristorante Pappagallo on 21 November for the fundraising Festival of Trees where the trees are auctioned off, with all proceeds going to the CCMI.
Christmas celebrations begin in earnest with the annual Christmas Tree Lighting at The Crescent on 24 November. Bring the entire family and watch as The Crescent, The Paseo and each of the courtyards are transformed into a festive wonderland, sparkling with thousands of Christmas lights. Performances by the Cayman National Choir and Orchestra will add to the festive atmosphere and the audience can join the children’s choirs from Cayman International School and Cayman Prep in singing traditional songs. After a magical start to the Christmas season, complete with a quick visit from Father Christmas, spend the rest of the evening getting a head start on your Christmas list, take in a movie or have a family dinner and simply enjoy the festive sights and sounds.
If the Christmas traffic and late nights wrapping gifts start to take their toll, unwind for a while and enjoy the smooth sounds of the sixth annual Cayman Jazz Fest during the first weekend in December. Entertaining crowds with the music of top jazz and R&B performers, including Keith Sweat, Mike Phillips and Peabo Bryson and headliner Alicia Keys, this highly anticipated festival is one of the most popular events of the year.
Getting back into the holiday spirit, the Cayman 27 Parade of Lights cruises through the harbour at Camana Bay on 12 December, lighting up the night sky with a dazzling parade of boats, decorated with millions of coloured lights.
With unlimited free parking or the option of valet parking Camana Bay can change the holiday shopping season from stressful to serene.
It is also the ideal place to do your holiday shopping.
