Jazz Fest brings out the stars
The daughter of a preacher, Oleta Adams has followed in her father’s footsteps by carving a successful career for herself as a soul, jazz and gospel singer and pianist.
Discovered by members of the British band Tears for Fears, Oleta’s first big hit was a duet with Roland Orzabal of Tears for Fears with Phil Collins on drums. She toured the world with the band in 1990, recording her first solo album that year, as well.
She has released 10 albums, the first of which was self-financed in 1983, and the last of which was released this year.
