Kicking back with a glass of wine is a time honoured tradition to celebrate the end of the week. Doing so for a good cause in a great location makes it even more meaningful, and Paws for Wine is the perfect opportunity to do so. The fundraiser, organised by Cayman Animal Rescue Enthusiasts, will take place on 27 October from 7pm at Ristorante Pappagallo.
A variety of different wines from Blackbeard’s are the main sponsor of the event and will be showcased from several countries to ensure that there will be something for every taste. Even wine aficionados will be given a chance to experience something new and exciting.
Included in the $75 ticket price will be the above tastings, as well as an assortment of delicious canapés and a great selection from the fabulous food stations. There will be a silent auction, as well as a live auction and the wonderfully entertaining Jay Ehrhart of Radio Cayman will be the MC for the evening.
Live entertainment will be provided by the very talented and always popular Suite Elite. There are some amazing items up for auction in the live and silent auctions, and lots of fun door prizes too.
Tickets are sponsored by Pet Paradise and available for sale from Ristorante Pappagallo, Cayman Animal Hospital, Island Veterinary Services, Bliss Living Yoga, Must Love Dogs and Pet Paradise.
Since its incorporation in August 2009, CARE has spayed and neutered over 700 dogs and cats as well as arranging for pickup and delivery of these pets to and from their veterinary appointments.
In addition, working with a group of talented carpenters from Northward prison and through donations from the Ogier Animal Welfare fund and individual donations, the organisation has been able to purchase a number of doghouses, all of which have been delivered to dogs that have no shelter of their own.
The Home to Call Their Own programme was rolled out in East End and to date 42 doghouses have been delivered to those most in need from East End to West Bay. In addition, CARE has arranged for the transfer of over 240 homeless and unwanted puppies to overseas facilities, giving them a second chance at life. On Island, CARE has been successful in placing 55 dogs and cats in their forever homes.
