Pull out your suspenders, dust off your wig, and don your most colourful socks. It’s here again; the luckiest family fun run/walk in Cayman. Bring your friends, neighbours, and kids out for a fun filled afternoon and some exercise to boot!
The 22nd Annual St. Patrick’s Day 5K Irish Jog will take place on Monday, March 17, 2014 at 5:30 p.m. at Grand Cayman Beach Suites. The 3.1 mile course follows the cart path around the Britannia golf course and villas.
The Jog, co-sponsored each year by Butterfield and Grand Cayman Beach Suites, has become Cayman’s most anticipated fun run/walk, attracting hundreds of local and overseas participants from the serious runners to the walkers pushing baby strollers. Group registration is also encouraged, so don’t be shy, grab your co-workers and sign up a whole band of friends.
Jog participants will receive a T-shirt and have the chance to win one of several fabulous spot prizes awarded on a draw basis. Prizes range from watersports excursions, to dinners for two and even spa services. There will be free hats, face stickers, wigs and other fun wear for everyone. Complimentary refreshments will be available after the event.
The entry fee is just $10 per person (US $12.50) and all proceeds raised from the event will be donated to a local charity in support of worthy causes such as the arts, sports, health, community and education.
Registration takes place Thursday, March 13 through Friday, March 14 at Butterfield House on Fort Street from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m.; then on Saturday, March 15 through Sunday, March 16 at Britannia Restaurant & Golf Course from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m.
Participants can also sign up on Monday, March 17 at Britannia golf course, Grand Cayman Beach Suites from 9 a.m. – 5:15 p.m.
Costumes are encouraged, and everyone can go at their own pace. The name of the game is fun!
