Fashion for the Animals 2015: Walking the “ruffway”

Calling all fashionistas and animal lovers! Keep your calendars free for the return of “Fashion for the Animals” on Friday, Jan. 29, 2015.

This exciting event will be held at Camana Bay at 5:30 p.m. and will be hosted by none other than the fabulous Nicola de Lima of NKY, and Markus Mueri of Abacus.

It promises to be a thrilling evening with a fashion show featuring all the top designer names from NKY, prize draws, and auctions plus entertainment.

Raffle tickets will be available in advance and on the night for $5 each – a pretty great deal when the first prize is a weekend in Little Cayman, courtesy of Cayman Airways and the Little Cayman Beach resort. There is also a staycation at the Westin and dinner at The Ritz-Carlton, Grand Cayman up for grabs.

Of course, a fashion show isn’t a show without models, and just as in previous Humane Society events, the stars of the show will be the shelter dogs. These gorgeous canines will be dressed up to the nines, and each accompanied by their very own personal trainer.

The dogs have been working hard for several months perfecting their manners for this very special night. They will be keeping all paws crossed that someone in the audience will take them home.

To make the event even more special, animal lovers on the island will be happy to hear that the occasion will bring together and unite for the evening the main animal rescue groups on the island – CARE, PAWS, Feline Friends and Canine Friends – together with The Cayman Islands Humane Society. All these organizations will benefit from the funds raised

Tickets are on sale at the CIHS Book Loft, NKY, Abacus, Must Love Dogs and Utopia, as well as from representatives of all the rescue groups. They are $30 for general entry with welcome drink, and $75 for VIP, which includes wine and hors d’oeuvres.
