Where to say “I do”?

Back to Main Story: Weddings in Cayman

One of the most important items on your to-do list when getting married, is deciding upon a location for your nuptials. The Cayman Islands are a top choice for destination weddings, as they offer a bounty of beautiful locations, both indoors and outdoors.

Beach weddings.

The most obvious choice is the beach for a wedding ceremony. It’s hard to beat the white sands, framed by blue seas and skies, particularly when the sun is setting.

Couples can choose public spaces like Smith Cove, or one of the public beaches if they really want to make things simple (and keeps the costs to a minimum); or they can book through one of the many hotels on Seven Mile Beach, including The Ritz-Carlton, Grand Cayman, the Westin, or The Marriott.

These hotels all have event planners on staff to provide any decor you want, music, and hors d’oeuvres with champagne. You’ll have a number of packages to choose from that will check all the boxes without breaking the bank.

Church ceremonies.

There are many lovely churches here, in all the districts, covering a variety of denominations. Elmslie Memorial Church in George Town is an historic building, with wooden pews and stained glass windows – a wonderful choice, and able to accommodate many guests.

Then there are beautiful, small churches in Bodden Town, North Side, West Bay and East End, not to mention the sister islands. Just remember to check with each individual church to find out what advance preparations are required in order for you to get married there.

Garden weddings.

Just imagine being surrounded by tropical trees and flowers while you say your vows. You’ll find public and private gardens available for wedding bookings, including hotel and resort gardens, such as The Great Lawn at The Ritz-Carlton, Grand Cayman, and the magnificent surroundings of the QEII Botanic Park. Look out; maybe you’ll have an unexpected wedding guest in the form of a rare blue iguana!

Wedding planners will be able to give you a range of options, and advise you as to the best location for whatever time of year you choose to get married.

Civil and simple.

If you’re only visiting the islands for a short period of time, or you’d like the wedding without the fuss, consider Simply Weddings in George Town – an office that will guide you through the paperwork you need, and then can marry you on location.

Many cruise ship visitors and short-term visitors find this to be a great option, and then they celebrate on the beach!
