Miss Cayman 2016 Pageant: ‘World of Colour’

After a year’s reign, Miss Cayman 2015, Tonie Chisholm, will be handing over her crown to the next lucky lady who wins the title. The Miss Cayman World of Colour Pageant will be held on Jan. 30 at the Lions Center when eight young women compete for the coveted role.

Latrese Haylock, Theresa Cole, Schilo Scott, Erin Nicole Hislop, Samantha Rea, Jamie Rogers, Monyque Brooks and Shanice Kelly have been getting themselves ready for the pageant over many months. Not only have they been training for the stage show; they have also made appearances at many charity functions, most recently at the Jingle Bell Walk/Run and Lean on Me events in December 2015.

The Miss Cayman Pageant is scheduled for Jan. 30 at the Lions Center. Gates open at 6 p.m. and the event begins at 7 p.m.

General admission tickets are $25 for adults and $10 for children ages 6-12. Under 6 are free.

VIP tickets are $100 and $75.

Tickets are available at Sand Angels, Renaissance, Funky Tangs, Le Classique and Arbutus Gallery.  For more information on the pageant, see www.misscaymanpageant.com.

According to the website, “In 1977 the first ever Miss Cayman Islands Pageant began an annual tradition that would become the most highly anticipated national event. For 30+ years Cayman has crowned some of the most intelligent, poised and beautiful women to be representatives for our country.

This event is just one of many traditions to showcase our national pride and has truly evolved into a powerful organization. The Miss Cayman pageant supports opportunities for young women to become true ambassadors locally and internationally for The Cayman Islands.”
