The Committee of Hope for Hedge Funds Care Cayman has done it again! Back, due to popular demand, the organization will be hosting its 5th Annual HFC Oktoberfest Bash.
This year, the event will be held on Oct. 18 at Saltwater Grill from 5:30-8 p.m.
Carol Reynolds, Executive Director of Queensgate Bank & Trust and HFC Committee of Hope co-chair says, “We have such a great time – all for a great cause – every year and we are pleased to be working with Saltwater Grill who, right off the bat, were great at helping us create a festive atmosphere.”
Though some believe it is the event and charity that get people out, it may also be the entertainment. When else do you see the Committee of Hope fellow fiduciaries, lawyers and accountants dressed up in dirndl and lederhosen with the ladies in braids and the men in feather-topped hats? It’s worth it for that sight alone.
Committee members have dusted off their outfits and are ready to greet their hedge fund industry colleagues (and sell them raffle tickets).
Thanks to keen raffle prize collectors on the committee and the wonderful support of local businesses, there are usually 40-50 prizes up for grabs. With an attendance of 150-200 people, that’s 1-in-4 people going home with something.
Sherri Fleming, Alternative Asset Management Director at PwC Cayman and HFC Committee of Hope co-chair says, “We have great fun selling raffle tickets. We sell one for $5, three for $10 and an arm’s length for $25. We also let you pick whose arm you would like to use. If you’re tall with long limbs, you are going to be in demand! We had to call a time out for one really long-limbed guy last event who wasn’t getting the opportunity to finish his beer!”
Speaking of beer, included in the ticket price is a choice of two drinks as well as food. The chef is excited at the challenge of a themed menu and is rumored to be experimenting with traditional Oktoberfest fare including mini-schnitzels on pretzels, pork schnitzels with cranberry sauce, beer bratwursts in tiny buns, mini reubens, german chocolate cake minis with coconut cream, and chocolate ganache.
There will be Oktoberfest-themed contests throughout the night. Tickets are limited and past events have had 150+ attendees, so if you are interested, get your tickets now. Your $50 ticket includes Oktoberfest-inspired food, and two drinks.
