Teams from all around the United States will converge on Grand Cayman in November for the island’s biggest basketball event of the year.

The National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Cayman Islands Classic is being held from Nov. 19 to 21.
The eight-team field features Clemson, Creighton, Georgia State, St. Bonaventure, Akron, Boise State, Georgia and Illinois State.

Three teams from last year’s inaugural Cayman Islands Classic – Cincinnati, Buffalo and South Dakota State – qualified for March Madness, the nickname given to the NCAA Division I Men’s Basketball Tournament.
Cincinnati was also the winner of last year’s inaugural Cayman Islands Classic.

Thousands of fans are expected on-island for the tournament, which is being held at the John Gray High School gymnasium.
