If you haven’t noticed already, the island is preparing for the Christmas season in a big way. Traffic roundabouts usually decorated with nothing but plant life are festooned with lights, as are shopping plazas, Camana Bay, and private homes known for opening their gardens to the public every year.
Christmas just isn’t the same without a visit to the Crightons’ home on Shamrock Road, or the Bodden sisters’ house on South Church Street, opposite Sunset House. Don’t worry if you’re not exactly sure where they are located – the cars parked on the side of the road and the faint sound of electrical meters whirring under the load of an extraordinary amount of lights and decorations will lead you.
Camana Bay goes all-out around this time of year. Polar bears, reindeer and giant gifts have been sighted around the Town Centre in the past. What’s in store this December? Just stop by and take a walk around.
We would like to share images from 2017 to give you a taste of what you’ll see. It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas!
