Wine pairing dinners
The Kitchen @ Fidel Murphy’s is offering a six-course wine pairing menu on the third Wednesday of each month for $80 per person. Sommelier Aimee Roberts puts a great deal of care into her wine selections, giving guests plenty to discuss during each course. She has a welcoming and informative approach, which helps ease diners into an evening of fun at this recently opened restaurant.
Eating Klean is a new meal prep service that delivers fresh, healthy food right to your door. It offers heat-and-eat breakfast, lunch and dinner options, along with snacks and various juices and smoothies. All meals are cooked from scratch, using locally sourced ingredients as much as possible. There are no preservatives, additives or genetically modified foods. It can accommodate special diet requests, such as vegan options. The business is owned by Caymanian Kris Bradshaw.
Non-stop to Denver
Cayman Airways has announced it will begin direct routes from Grand Cayman to Denver in Colorado as of March 2, 2019. The seasonal route, operated on Wednesday and Saturdays, will be the longest scheduled commercial flight the airline has ever operated. It will be served by the first of the national airline’s four new Boeing 737 Max 8 aircraft, which arrived in December.
Shop & spa
Anyone who loves to shop and be pampered should schedule a visit to the Grand Cayman Marriott Beach Resort. The hotel has recently opened its boutique, The Mercantile, as well as the new-look spa Botanika Union. The shop features a collection of products including beach apparel, bags, accessories and shoes. The spa has a changing program of holistic treatments and therapies that can be enjoyed on a monthly or weekly basis.
For people who enjoy humor on a night out, the recently opened Cayman Comedy Club is the place to check out. Located at Sharkeez bar on George Town waterfront, the club is open from Wednesday through Sunday nights bringing international acts to the local stage. Louis Ramey and Billy D. Washington are performing in January. Doors open at 7 p.m., dinner buffet is served from 7 p.m. to 8:15 p.m. and show time is 8:30 p.m.
Health City expands
Medical services at the Health City Cayman Islands intensive care unit have been expanded. The suite now has more beds for specialized care, a resuscitation room and a dedicated operating room equipped with a heart bypass machine. The unit is staffed 24 hours a day, and generally treats patients who have been in an accident.
