Live music

Jam nights give everyone a chance to fulfil their dream of playing in a band and Rackam’s in George Town is home to one of the best jam nights on the island.

Every Tuesday it is time for Stoli Jam from 8-11pm. As you have probably guessed, there are Stoli drink specials on the menu and here is an incentive for potential music stars: Jammers get a free drink to give them that Dutch courage they might need.

Musicians and singers are welcome.

Happy hour

Anchor & Den in the Marriott has never made a secret of the fact that it loves a good gin cocktail.

If you too are a fan of this versatile spirit, you’ll love Gin-ius Fridays from 4-8pm.

Handcrafted gin-and-tonics as well as other gin-based creations are only $8 a pop. Pair with one of the shareable food boards and you’ve got a party in the making. The resident DJ is the icing on the cake. Surely songs by the Gin Blossoms are in the mix?

The Greenhouse Restaurant on North Church Street wants you to start off your weekend with a bit of spice in your step.

Every Friday from 4:30-7pm, indulge in everything jerk: chicken, pork, patties, sliders … the list goes on and on. Wash them down with Appleton rum drinks on special for only $5 or get a bucket of beer for $20 and a bottle of wine for $30.

There are also complimentary jerk snacks for each table. Yummy!

Late nights are mainly designed for service industry folk or anyone willing to arrive to work slightly bleary-eyed the next morning.

The Lodge in The Strand starts its Late Night Industry Party every Sunday at 11:59pm. That is not a misprint. The ever-popular DJ Jonesian is always up for a challenge and he definitely brings the energy until 2am.

Drink specials start at 11pm so by the time Jonesian takes to the turntables, everyone is in a party mood.
